City Palace

The City Palace complex, located within the walled city, is a stunning fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture, and is still home to the last ruling royal family of Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and expanded upon by later rulers. The complex includes the Mubarak Mahal, which now houses the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum and displays an exquisite collection of royal costumes, Pashmina shawls, Banaras silk saris, and dresses with Sanganeri prints and folk embroidery. The Maharani's Palace houses a well-preserved display of Rajput weaponry dating back to the 15th century, as well as beautiful paintings on the ceiling. It is a must-visit for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of Jaipur.
