What “Tharavadu” means 

In Kerala, a Tharavadu is more than a house. It is an ancestral home where generations grew together, shared stories and created memories. It represents belonging, warmth and heritage. At the resort, these traditional homes have been carefully restored to offer you the same emotional comfort, with the luxury you deserve.

Traditional Architecture:

Anchal - Originating from Anchal (a small town) near Kollam around 40 Kms away from The Leela Raviz Ashtamudi, this traditional Nalukettu (central courtyard) home belonged to a Hindu traditional family. It features a Poomukham (portico), rich wooden craftsmanship, clay-tiled roofing, and earthy interiors that reflect classic Kerala architecture.
 
Erattupetta – Brought from Erattupetta (a town in Kottayam district which is around 110 Kms away from The Leela Raviz Ashtamudi), this 200-year-old Syrian Christian home is distinguished by its airy veranda and pitched roof, showcasing the vernacular style of Christian households of that era.
