The city experiences four distinct seasons—spring (early February to end March), summer (early April to mid-October), autumn (late October to early November) and winter (mid-November to January). Temperatures vary between 7°C min. and 15°C, max. in winters, and between 25°C, min. and 46°C, max. in summers. Monsoons set in between July and September.
Travellers to the city are advised to wear light, cotton clothes for summers and woollens for the peak of winter—December and January.
