Walk around in one of the numerous parks in the city—like Cubbon Park, JP Park or the Lalbaugh Botanical Gardens. But if history is your calling, draw your itinerary around Bengaluru Fort, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace or the Mayo Hall—one of the finest designs of British architecture.
Alternatively, choose to expand your knowledge about Bengaluru by wandering around government buildings like Vidhan Soudha, the seat of state legislature in Karnataka; or museums like the Government Museum, Kempegowda Museum, the NIMHANS Brain Museum, Philatelic Museum or the Jawaharlal Nehru Museum.
Nature-lovers can get away for a weekend to hill-stations near the city. While on a nature’s trail, try not to miss Nandi Hills; the Thottikalu falls; or Dodda Alada Mara, the 400-year-old Banyan tree, located in Ramohalli, situated at a distance of about 30 kilometers from the city.
For the spiritually inclined, too, Bengaluru offers many retreats, like the St. Mary’s Basilica, the ISKCON Temple, Masjid-e-Khadria and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Ulsoor.
If none of those appeals to you, take a walk down the Commercial Street, the main commercial area in the city, or another highlight of the city—the Brigade Road. You’d be a stone’s throw from the best pubs and discotheques in town.
