Mirrors of Hope

A reflection of craft, culture and conscious luxury

Deeply rooted in our commitment to sustainability, women and community empowerment, and the preservation of Indian craft, Mirrors of Hope extends The Leela’s philosophy that true luxury is expressed through meaning, intention and a sense of place.

Celebrating Sustainability and Heritage

Honouring a Legacy of Craft

Lippan Art, the symbolic mud and mirror craft of Kutch, has been practised for generations by women artisans who shape patterns of light, joy and reflection using clay and mirrors. In collaboration with the Karigar Foundation, these artisans have created modular festive installations crafted from sustainable materials and adorned with:

  • Hand-moulded clay motifs
  • Mirror inlays that shimmer with natural light
  • Traditional geometric forms reimagined in a modern festive context

Designed with circularity at their core, each tree will be upcycled after the season into coasters, ornaments and keepsakes, allowing the artistry to continue its journey long after the festivities conclude.

A Celebration that Creates Impact

Guests are invited to participate by sharing photographs of the installations using #MirrorsOfHope and #LeelaEmpowersHer.

Each post supports women artisans through Threads of Tradition, The Leela’s craft-led CSR initiative that champions upskilling, design innovation and sustainable livelihoods. In doing so, guest celebration seamlessly transforms into community impact.

Sustainable Trees across the Portfolio

In addition to the Lippan Art installations, several properties across The Leela portfolio have created sustainability-led festive trees that echo the brand’s commitment to conscious luxury:

  • The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi – an 11-foot tree crafted from repurposed wooden flooring and an 80-foot façade installation built from reclaimed conduit pipes
  • The Leela Kovalam, A Raviz Hotel – a 15-foot tree made entirely from repurposed coconut husk
  • The Leela Ambience Gurugram – A Tree That Tells a Story, shaped with handcrafted ornaments created by local artisans

These installations reflect the many ways in which sustainability, craftsmanship and cultural expression continue to guide festive celebrations across The Leela.
