The iconic Gabbar scene in the movie Sholay was shot at a rocky outcrop that you can reach via a staircase of about 400 steps. Skandagiri Hills

You need to add a sunrise at Skandagiri hills to your bucket list. The sun rising amidst the clouds is a scene to behold. There are night treks arranged to reach the top in time for sunrise. The trek takes you through paths meandering through the wilderness. It is a thrilling experience in itself. Savandurga Hill

Savanadurga is the largest monolith in Asia just about a 2 hours’ drive from the city. There are two main points, the Billigudda (White hill) and Karigudda (Black hill). The intermediate level trek rewards you with majestic views of the Manchinbele dam and the valley from the top. You can also see the Akravati River and the perennial Lotus ponds from the top.
