SATTE confers Lifetime Achievement Award on Capt.Nair

Capt. C.P.Krishnan Nair, Chairman, The Leela Palaces-Hotels-Resorts has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from SATTE in recognition for his sterling contribution to the hospitality industry. The award was presented by Ms. Ambika Soni, Minister for Tourism at a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi on 20th April which marked the inauguration of the 14th Annual SATTE – South AsianTravel and Tourism Expo, 2007. SATTE also saw the coming together of many luminaries in the industry at one platform. It brought together 5000 professionals – diplomats, bureaucrats and captains from the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.

In Capt Nair’s words, “ India is fast emerging into a major travel and tourism player. Incredible India is the flavour of the times. Satte has rightfully taken upon the mantle of open world, growing and adapting with the change in the market place. SATTE is today the biggest and the best organised travel trade show in India and South Asia. With liberalization of Government policies, the Indian hospitality industry is experiencing a boom and most international brands are constantly eyeing entry opportunities in this market”. On a more personal note, Capt Nair said that he was both honoured and delighted to win this recognition for both a lifetime of personal achievements as well as for the Group’s excellence in performance and service.
