
Heartiest Congratulations to our “Top Chefs” who have won manifold awards at the recently held Hotel Tech Kerala Exhibition and Culinary Challenge. The award ceremony was held at Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium at Cochin.
At the felicitation ceremony, The Leela Kempinski Kovalam was also awarded The Best Culinary Establishment Award.
The art of achieving culinary excellence is based not only on the recipes but also the sensory appeal that the dish exudes in its presentation. These chefs came out at the top of their league in these parameters and have upheld the magic of the experience that The Leela promises to its patrons.
World Renowned Chef and Member of World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), Chef Alan Palmer was the Chief Judge at the event. The entire panel consisted of five other judges who along with Mr. Palmer decided on the winners.
Chef Thomas Joseph of The Leela Kempinski, Kovalam was declared the Most Outstanding Chef after his winning three gold medals in the genre of hot cooking for fish, chicken and beef.
Chef Gopakumar also from The Leela Kempinski, Kovalam won two medals. A gold medal for his rice preparation “Cheera Chemeen Biryani” which he elected to serve in a unique manner and a bronze medal for his delicious Kerala cuisine.
Chef Subhasish Sahoo won a bronze medal for his Practical Patisserie.
Each of these fine chefs put in extra effort and zealously worked towards winning these prestigious awards. They accumulated the highest individual points and The Leela Kempinski Kovalam won the highest culinary laurel in the state this year.
It was indeed a remarkable night to mark remarkable talent!
