Culture
Go is steeped in both Christian and Hindu tradition. But above all, it is the place where the weary traveler from all parts of India and the world, comes to experience “susegado” – the desire to unwind and live a little.
Goa has some of the best churches and Portuguese mansions that you simply must visit. Of special interest is the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a World Heritage Monument that has housed the sacred mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier since 1695.

Konkani is the language of most Goans, while Marathi and Hindi and also widely spoken and understood.
Weather
Inspite of being a coastal land in a tropical climate, Goa is blessed with 6 months of temperate weather. From October to March, it is perfect weather for sunbathers who don’t want to risk sunburn. The winter, in December and January, can bring chilly nights. Monsoons from June to September bring heavy rainfall and relief from the summer heat.
Transportation
Goa is fairly easy for tourist travel. Private taxis are both readily available and easily arranged for. Another popular choice is traveling by two-wheelers.
